From the cultural landscapes of Morocco, Sicily, Germany, France and the Netherlands, the Ahaddaf Quartet fuses tradition and innovation into a new musical model. Moroccan-Andalusian roots, combined with jazz and Latin influences, emerge in catching melodies, striking themes and enchanting solos. The alchemy of the ud and double bass, intertwined with percussion and piano, gives the Ahaddaf Quartet its trademark sound. Lead by the accomplished ud virtuoso Mohamed Ahaddaf, the cross-cultural ensemble blends language, heritage and storytelling in a rich and harmonious encounter. The quartet has performed extensively across the Netherlands and Morocco, and has released two albums: Nasim Al Andalous and Spoken Soul.
